About 榕樹凹村簡介    

Yung Shue Au （Chinese： 榕樹凹） is a Hakka village which is located in northeast of Hong Kong. All the villagers bear the same family name＂WAN＂ （温). Administratively, it falls within the North District and is part of Sha Tau Kok, a small inland town used to be the market place for the villages nearby. Yung Shue Au means banyan tree pass, a mountain pass next to the north bay of Yung Shue Au Bay on the peninsula northeast of Pat Sin Leng. The location is adjacent to Starling Inlet and close to the maritime border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

 

榕樹凹是條客家人的村莊，已有三百年歷史。多年來因缺乏交通配套，村民漸漸搬離，到附近交通較為方便的沙頭角、孔嶺、祠堂村等地。因為子孫繁衍，香港市區亦難以置業，因此計劃在政府開放邊境小鎮沙頭角之後即重建村荘。
